HARGEISA (SD) – According to its 2024 report, the International Crisis Group has recognized Somaliland as the only place in Africa with reliable political stability and security.

The Crisis Group’s report highlighted that Somaliland has overcome political uncertainty following the presidential and party elections held on November 13, 2024, which were conducted peacefully and transparently.

The report noted that these elections could lead to the restoration of relations between Somaliland and Djibouti, as well as resolving tensions with SSC Khaatumo, with whom there have been conflicts in recent years.

“The presidential election took place peacefully after months of tension and two years of delays. The opposition leader won, which raises hopes for progress in internal and external relations,” the report stated.

As shown on the map published by the Crisis Group, Somaliland is the only place in Africa with reliable political and security stability.

Somaliland is still recovering from political struggles over the past two years, while tensions remain between Somaliland forces and SSC Khatumo, with both sides still holding prisoners.
