Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali Attorney General’s Office has dropped charges against Jubbaland Security Minister Abdirashid Hassan Abdinur (Janan) previously filed by the Somali government.
The Benadir Regional Court has accepted the withdrawal of the previously filed charges against Janan by the National Attorney General’s Office.
The request dismissing the prosecutor’s case against Janan was accepted by the Benadir Regional Court before the former Jubaland minister Abdirashid Janan was received in Beled Hawo on the 24th of last month.
The federal government has previously accused Abdirashid Janan of committing serious crimes in the country, with Amnesty International also accusing the former minister of crimes against humanity.
Janan was also ousted by the Jubbaland president as the regional security minister, after he defected to federal government last month.
