Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali cabinet suspended the government’s Path Program at a meeting this week, it has been the way the Somali government has been operating for the past three and a half years.
Somalia’s care taker Prime Minister Mahdi Guled Khadar has reportedly suggested the removal of the “National Path” as they have given more power to the prime minister’s office, and from now on each of the government agencies will be independent in its work.
It is unclear why the decision was not made public, but it is possible that the caretaker government was reluctant to comment on the matter.
Former Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre has established a system known as the “National Path” which consists of four paths: the Security and Justice, the Economic Development, the Social and the Inclusive Political Path.
The path program had directors reporting to the prime minister’s office and all government ministries and agencies were under these Paths.
