Kismayo (SD) – Reports from Kismayo town in the lower Juba region confirm that a suicide bomber blew himself up at a police station in the town, causing casualties including deaths and injuries.
Jubaland Chamber of Commerce Chairman Shafi Rabi Kahin died of his injuries after Friday prayers, officials said.
The blast was said to have been caused by a man wearing an explosive vest, who blew himself up outside the Jama Qadim Mosque in Kismayo.
The blast killed four people, including the suicide bomber, and wounded six others, most of them security guards of Jubaland Chamber of Commerce Chairman Shafi Rabi Kahin.
Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack that killed Jubaland Chamber of Commerce Chairman and his bodyguards.
