Somalia condemns Gaza Hospital Strike

Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali government has strongly condemned the Israeli airstrike on Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza last night, resulting in the reported deaths of 500 people.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, written in Arabic, said, “The Federal Republic of Somalia strongly condemns the horrific Israeli airstrike on Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, which led to the deaths of over 500 Palestinian civilians, including children and women, Responsibility for this tragedy lies with the Israeli military.”

The Somali government’s statement characterizes the attack as a heinous crime that cannot go unpunished and calls for the respect of international laws and human rights.

Somalia also calls on the international community to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and provide immediate and necessary medical assistance, given the dire health challenges faced by the people of Gaza.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has also stated that urgent efforts are required to deliver medical supplies and support to Gaza to address the severe humanitarian crisis as a result of the Israeli blockade.

More than 2,800 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, with over 11,000 others wounded since the outbreak of the Israeli airstrikes.
