Mogadishu (SD) -A statement from the Somali police has provided detailed information about the explosion that occurred yesterday at the Blue Sky restaurant in the Xaawataako neighborhood of Boondheere district, where a suicide bomber reportedly detonated an explosive device, resulting in casualties.

The police have confirmed that the explosion claimed the life of the Director of Somali Cable TV Abdifatah Nur, and four other individuals were injured. Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

The individual who carried out the attack initially gained access to the premises but raised suspicion among those present at the restaurant, as confirmed by people at the scene, and they attempted to prevent him from entering.

Following this confrontation, the individual detonated the device, resulting in multiple casualties. The incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in the city, and investigations are continuing to ascertain the full details of the attack.
