Somalia confirms 46 new COVID 19 cases

Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s COVID-19 cases rose to 436 as 46 more test positive for the disease. Five more died bringing the total deaths to 23 people.

Ministry Of Health on Sunday evening announced national COVID 19 protections and strategic plan to curb further spread of the disease.

Prime Minister,Hassan Ali Kheyre last week appointed Dr Mohamed Mohamud Fuje as the country’s Chief Medical Officer amid the country accelerates its efforts to defeat the pandemic.

The CMO yesterday also call on the federal government to implement further public movement restriction to combat the diseases seriously.

The appointed doctor studied at the Somali National University especially Faculty of Medicine and at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine at London University.
