Mogadishu (SD) – The federal government distributed free medical masks to the residents of the capital Mogadishu as part of efforts to combat the Coronavirus.

These medical masks are to be delivered to all residents of the country’s regional governorates, as the protective medical masks were given to drivers, mass transit and a large number of citizens in public places.

Civil society groups welcomed this initiative launched by the federal government in light of the comprehensive prevention plan pursued by the country to mitigate the spread of the COVID 19 spread.

This move come after ministry of health announced 46 new COVID 19 cases tested positive in Somalia’s capital.

The federal government is making efforts to limit the spread of the virus in society.
