MOGADISHU (SD) – A fierce battle between two clan militias from the administrations of Galmudug and Puntland erupted this morning in the western part of the Mudug region, specifically in areas where the militias have previously fought.

According to reports, the fighting broke out early this morning in an area called Jiicboor, and it is now spreading to new areas in the western part of the Mudug region.

The battle between the two clan militias involves various types of weapons, and reinforcements are arriving at the conflict zone from both sides.

Significant casualties, including deaths and injuries, have been reported from the fighting in the western Mudug region. The injured are being taken to Gaalkacyo and Galdogob.

This conflict between the two clan militias has occurred repeatedly in the area, with several previous peace agreements failing to prevent the recurring clashes between these militias who inhabit the contested area.
