Somalia discloses names of pro-shabaab journalists killed in airstrikes

MOGADISHU (SD) – Somalia has displayed names of four militants killed in airstrikes in southern Somalia.

Quoting the military officials, SNA Radio reported that the three Journalists working at pro-shabaab radio station and senior militant commander were eliminated.

US Mission in Africa late last week said its military destroyed al-Shabaab’s Al-Furqaan Radio Station in Kunya-Barow town in Lower Shabelle region.

Danab officials said the attack killed Ismail Dubad Sheikh who was al-Shabaab ring leader.

The journalists who were killed in the attack are Abdirahman Ali aka Khashi’i, Ahmed Dalmar Abu Warsame and Mohamed Ali Adan.

Al-Shabaab militant also confirmed the destruction of the station saying no one was killed in the attack.

The militant group has been fighting to topple Somali government since 2007.It carries out deadly attacks in major towns including the capital.

The group’s hit squad conducts assassinations in Mogadishu.

For the last 48 hours, the group conducted landmine attacks against two top government officials.
