Somalia expels Kenyan ambassador, recalls its ambassador

Mogadishu (SD) – The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Ali Nur recently addressed the state media said Somalia had informed Kenyan Ambassador Lucas Tumbo to return to his country, and recalled its ambassador to Kenya, Mohamud Ahmed Nur Tarsan, for consultations.

“The Somali federal government took this decision while preserving its national sovereignty, after it appeared that Kenya was deliberately interfering in the affairs of Somalia, particularly Jubbaland.” Said the Secretary.

The Somali government has accused Kenya of pressuring the Jubbaland president to implement its political agenda, undermining Somalia’s political agreement and violating the diplomatic practices of neighboring states.

“Kenya’s actions go beyond neighborliness and international diplomatic agreements, so we have recalled our ambassador for consultations. The Somali government will not accept any action that undermines the sovereignty and stability of our country,” he said Mohamed Ali Nur.

Finally, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur, stated that the Federal Government of Somalia will never accept any act that undermines its sovereignty and security.
