Mogadishu (SD) – The Federal Government of Somalia has said that it will work closely with the Interim Administration of SSC-Khatumo, based in the city of Las Anod in the Sool region, adding the government supports the decision made by the traditional leaders from those areas.
The Minister of Interior and Federal Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Moalin Fiqi, announced that the government of Somalia welcomes and will work closely with the interim administration of SSC-Khatumo.
The minister also mentioned that the central government will help with providing services such as education, healthcare, and water supply and addressing general humanitarian concerns and contribute to the peaceful coexistence of the local population.
The people of the Sool region engaged in intense war with the Somaliland administration and after taking control of Las Anod and other areas, establishment the SSC-Khatumo regional administration.
The leader of Khatumo, Abdikadir Firdhiye, who recently met with the President and Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia in the capital city, Mogadishu, expressed his satisfaction with the support and recognition received.
