Somalia: Government Official’s residences targeted in Baidoa

BAIDOA (SD) -Details are emerging about yesterday’s attacks that took place in Baidoa, the administrative capital of South West State of Somalia, which were carried out by Al-Shabaab.

The attacks, which numbered two, targeted houses within the city where government officials reside, as confirmed by local security sources.

It’s not clear the exact extent of the casualties caused by these attacks, which were claimed by members of the Al-Shabaab group.

Meanwhile, security forces of South West State are conducting thorough investigations in Baidoa, aiming to apprehend the perpetrators behind these attacks.

There has been no official statement released by the South West State administration regarding these attacks and the ensuing security operations conducted by the security forces.

Baidoa has recently witnessed sporadic incidents of killings and attacks carried out by Al-Shabaab militants who are reportedly hiding within the city and other areas under the administration of South West State of Somalia.
