MOGADISHU (SD) – Fighting erupts in Wadajir district of Banadir region, killing and injuring several people, scaring local residents.

Fighting between government forces took place in the Tarabunka neighborhood, clashing over the construction of a house built by a military officer, which is said to be the source of a family feud.

Some locals told local media that the warring parties were cousins, and the fighting left two soldiers dead and two others wounded, all from the same family.

Officials including the commander of Wadajir police station and the Western division police chief reportedly went to the scene, and arrested the warring soldiers.

Residents were shocked by the fighting between the Somali military soldiers and their relatives, with the incident becoming a source of grief and controversy in Wadajir district.
