Somalia: Minister of Health reports on the latest COVID-19 situation in the country

Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali Federal Government’s Ministry of Health said in it’s daily report on Coronavirus data, that 77 new COVID-19 cases have been registered in the past 24 hours. killing 5 people and 34 people recovered.

Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ms. Fawzia Abikar Nur, confirmed that new cases were reported in Banadir (56), Puntland (19), Somaliland (1) and Jubbaland (1) regions, with 48 confirmed cases being male and 29 female.

Ms. Fawzia Abikar Nur called on the community to take the advice of health professionals and other public awareness campaigns on the dangers of the disease, as the risk of COVID-19 has recently doubled, and that they should get vaccinated against the virus.

The number of COVID-19 cases registered in the country reached 15,735 and 7,695 people were cured. A total of 837 other victims died from the virus.
