Somalia: PM Hamza opens Development Coordination Forum

MOGADISHU (SD) -The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, today chaired the Development Coordination Forum, which showcased government achievements, existing challenges, and recommendations on how to harmonize national plans and development programs supported by the government and international partners.

The Prime Minister urged institutions and donor agencies to ensure that projects implemented in the country truly benefit the Somali people, emphasizing that accountability will be a priority going forward.

The PM pointed out that Somalia has fallen behind in the world for the past thirty years, and is now imperative to work differently and more collaboratively than before to ensure the success of development efforts.

The forum was attended by various officials from the Federal Government of Somalia, regional state governments, donors, the United Nations, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
