MOGADISHU (SD) -The Somali government’s security forces have reported that they thwarted a suicide bombing attempt in the Sayidka Police Headquarters in Mogadishu today. The suspect, carrying explosive materials, was apprehended before he could carry out the attack.
According to security officials, the suspect was arrested while attempting to detonate the explosives inside the police headquarters. It’s been reported that the individual had intended to cause harm and destruction within the facility.
Security forces successfully prevented the attack, and no casualties were reported, except for minor injuries to one of the security personnel involved in the apprehension.
The authorities believe that the suspect is linked to extremist elements, but the investigation is ongoing to gather more information about the incident and the potential network behind the attempted attack.
