DHUSAMAREB (SD) – Reports from Kahan-dhaalle area in Galgadud region of Galmudug confirmed that a local woman was killed this morning while she was tending livestock.

Some residents of Kahan-dhaalle reported that gunmen from the clan militia killed the pregnant woman, by shooting her on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Hodan Abdi Jama, a pastoralist, and her family went to the scene and took the body to Gelinsor town.

The killing of Hodan Abdi is said to be based on clan rivalry, and the militants who killed Hodan, have already wounded other women pastoralists, who are currently being treated for their injuries.

Gelinsor town officials and elders reported that the incident is anti-Islamic, traditions and morals and it could lead to more atrocities if the neighboring Galmudug and DDS administrations do not intervene.

The killing of Hodan Abdi Jama has been widely reported in Kahan-dhaalle and Gelinsor areas of Galgadud region, and recent similar incidents in Somalia shocked the masses.
