Mogadishu August 06, 2023 (SD) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, chaired the National Security Council meeting, which discussed the implementation of the country’s security plan and the ongoing battle against Al-Shabaab.
The President heard the Chiefs of the Security Force’s to provide a comprehensive report on the country’s security and the progress being made in the campaign against Al-Shabaab.
The President highlighted the importance of Somali citizens living in peace and contributing to the stability of cities and regions that have been liberated.
He acknoledged the resilience of the Somali people, who are determined to live in a peaceful and prosperous nation, rebuilding cities and districts that have been devastated.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reaffirmed his commitment to the security leadership, as they work to establish a safe capital and extend the protection to all citizens of Somalia. He urged the people to cooperate closely with their security forces.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers of Security, Interior, Finance, Defense, Religion, and Endowment, as well as the Commanders of the Armed Forces.
