Somalia records 271 new cases of COVID-19

MOGADISHU (SD) – Somalia on Wednesday registered 271 new coronavirus infections out 1,855 samples that were tested in the past 24 hours.

The ministry of health said, a total of 12,837 cases have been confirmed since mid-March when the country recorded its first case.

76 more people were reported to have recovered from the disease; hence the total number of recoveries is now at 5,346.

Unfortunately, 32 people have succumbed to coronavirus in the country, the total number of fatalities now being 656.

Somalia rolled out doses of Sinopharm vaccine donated by China to boost the war against COVID-19 pandemic in the Horn of African nation.

The Horn of African nation received 200,000 doses of the vaccine donated by China last Sunday to boost its fight against the pandemic.
