NY (SD) -The Somali government has announced that it will host a meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York, to discuss the security situation in Somalia, the restructuring of the military, and counter-terrorism operations.
President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is in New York, will chair the meeting.
Representatives from 26 countries, the United Nations, the Arab League, the European Union, and the African Union will reportedly participate in the conference.
Discussions will cover the progress and challenges of the Somali Security Forces, the Security Sector Reform Plan in Somalia, and international support for Somalia’s security and development.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, during his stay in New York, is expected to hold various meetings with the participants of the conference.
