Mogadishu (SD) -President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, together with the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamse Abdi Barre, has today launched Somalia’s modern Governance Strategic Direction Program.

The two-day workshop on modern governance will be attended by all members of the Council of Ministers, international experts, and individuals with extensive knowledge in the development and modernization of governments.

The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who spoke to the ministers and other members participating in the workshop, urged them to take advantage of it stating that it is intended to create a functional and effective government system.

He also pointed out that the government he leads faces numerous challenges, including conflicts, and is committed to work towards delivering a modern and functioning government system.
