Somalia’s COVID-19 Cases keep raising

Mogadishu (SD) – Somali Federal Minister of Health Fawzia Abikar Nur, has updated the Somali public on new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

The ministers have confirmed 70 COVID-19 cases in the last 48 hours with 67 cases in Benadir, and three in Somaliland.

The total number of infections cases Is at 671 cases, 3 patients died, and 3 patients recovered, according to the minister.

The Minister also reaffirmed the Somali federal government’s commitment to fight and control the spread of the pandemic COVID-19.

The Minister noted that efforts are underway to improve infection screenings and initiated a series of general screening activities in Mogadishu to ascertain the severity of the infection.

The Minister has confirmed to the public that reports of infections and death are unique to those confirmed in a laboratory where not every death can not be attributed to COVID-19, a spat against the minister of information’s claim that all deaths in the country is COVID-19 death.
