Mogadishu (SD) – The Chairperson of Somalia’s National Electoral Commission Halima Ismail (Halimo Yare) today met with the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia Amb. Staffan Tillander.

During the meeting, the Ambassador and the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission discussed the latest developments in Somalia’s elections and the changes that have taken place in recent days as the country enters an election period.

The Chairperson and the Swedish ambassador discussed the democratic process and Sweden’s contribution to the reconstruction and rebuilding of the National Electoral Commission which lays the foundation for future democratic electoral processes in Somalia.
