GENEVA (SD) -The 77th World Health Assembly officially opened today in Geneva, Switzerland, and Dr. Ali Haji Adam, Minister of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia, was elected Vice-President of the World Health Assembly.
This assembly meets annually at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, addressing global health issues and making critical decisions affecting countries worldwide.
This year, one of the key topics of discussion at the World Health Assembly is a proposal submitted by Somalia’s Ministry of Health.
The proposal aims to unify global efforts to reduce maternal and infant mortality, aligning with the overarching goals of the assembly. This highlights Somalia’s significant and visible role in the global health agenda.
