“The National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting, which was set to officially open in Mogadishu tomorrow, has been postponed following discussions among national leaders. It has been agreed that the meeting will now take place on Monday, May 5, 2025,” the Prime Minister’s Office stated.

Puntland and Jubaland Boycott, SSC-Khaatumo Included for the First Time However, it was previously known that Puntland and Jubaland would not participate in the meeting due to ongoing political disputes with the federal government. Notably, this will be the first time the SSC-Khaatumo administration is invited—a sign of shifting dynamics in national-level negotiations.
