Somalia’s PM touts progress on elections

Mogadishu (SD) -The Somali prime minister’s office has provided details on the progress made so far in the electoral process, since it was taken over by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.

The statement from Roble’s office summarizes all that has happened since the start of the election negotiations, especially since the signing of the election agreement on May 27, 2021.

The Somali government, particularly the office of the prime minister, has announced that many achievements have been made, such as the signing of an agreement with the National Electoral Commission, the commission appointed by the prime minister to verify the members of the Electoral Commissions, with election commissions at the federal, state, and dispute resolution levels and the issuance of a national election timetable.

The letter also referred to the reconciliation efforts in Gedo region and the commission appointed by the prime minister to Garbaharey.
