Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s regional state leaders held an online conference today and together released joint statement.
President’s of Somalia’s member states in a communiqué issued today, announced that they would convene an emergency meeting on Thursday this week.
In their communique, the Presidents of Puntland, Galmudug, Jubaland, Hirshabelle and South West announced they have agreed to hold an emergency meeting on July 9th in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug.
The regional administration leaders have called for the first time to convene a meeting on political issues, especially election issues.
Somali Federal President Mohamed Farmajo invited the regional administrations to the national security conference, but the state leaders declined, after Jubaland and Puntland rejected the government’s plan for elections and other issues.
