Hargeisa (SD) – The Somaliland government has issued new guidelines to prevent the spread of Coronavirus into the country.
The country has imposed travel restrictions on its citizens from Europe and the United States following an assessment by the COVID-19 Prevention and Control Committee.
The committee says they are afraid that people from these countries may have the virus, and that they will no longer allowed to travel to Somaliland.
Somaliland warned Airlines not to bring passengers from theses restricted countries, according to a press statement released today by the Committee.
The ban comes at a time when there is lots confusion over the recommended 14-day quarantine, as passengers who arrived recently were released due to costs.
The Somaliland government appears to be financially incapable of enforcing the quarantine, the government didn’t present a detailed plan on how its going to handle the issue.
