WINDHOEK (SD) – Somaliland Flag Appears Again on International Stage Alongside Somalia’s Flag at African Economic Partners Meeting.

The Somaliland flag has once again appeared prominently on an international platform, displayed alongside Somalia’s flag during a global conference discussing Africa’s economic partners.

The conference was held in Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia.

Somalia’s ambassador to South Africa and other non-regional countries including Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Botswana and Zimbabwe, Ambassador Mohamed Sheikh Ishaq, who contacted Julius Amoti, the Senior Regional Director of ICRD (International Center for Research and Development), insisted on removing from his Twitter (X) account a post showing the Somaliland flag appearing at the conference held in Windhoek, Namibia.

Namibia is located on the western coast of southern Africa, bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It shares land borders with Angola and Zambia, and is a member state of the 56-member political organization.

Somaliland, which declared its separation from the rest of Somalia 25 years ago, is actively seeking international recognition. However, the Somali government, which opposes this move, consistently works to counter Somaliland’s efforts whenever they arise.
