HARGEISA (SD) – Former Galmudug President Ahmed Duale Haaf was exiled from Hargeisa, following his arrival this afternoon at Egal Airport Hargeisa, Somaliland.

Ahmed Haaf, sought out to enter Hargeisa, but the Somaliland Government has prevented him from doing so, and he was sent back to Djibouti.

Former Galmudug President Ahmed Haaf has previously visited Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, where he has resided in for some time.

The decision arises at a time where Somaliland is highly focusing on lobbying for their recognition as an independent country; and such arrivals might be seen as interference with its quest for recognition.

Neither the Somaliland government nor the former president Haaf have yet commented on the situation in hand.
