HARGEISA (SD) – The outgoing President of Somaliland, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, congratulated the newly elected President of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), and accepted the provisional results announced by the electoral commission.

President Muse Bihi began by expressing his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in the presidential and party elections, including the citizens of Somaliland who voted peacefully, the electoral commission, the competing political parties and organizations, and the security forces who maintained order.

He explicitly stated his acceptance of the victory of the WADDANI party in the elections and extended congratulations to its candidates for the heavy responsibility placed upon them. He said, “I hereby declare that we have accepted the election results won by the WADDANI party, as it is a legal and honorable step in nation-building.”

The President further emphasized that this was not a day for disputes or conflicts but a day for collective achievement and strengthening the nation. He remarked, “This is not a day for arguments or internal disagreements. It is a day of shared success where we have elevated our nation together.”

Finally, President Muse Bihi Abdi urged supporters of the KULMIYE party to respect the results and called on the citizens of Somaliland to cooperate with the newly elected President. He emphasized the importance of collective nation-building to achieve shared progress and prosperity.
