HARGEISA (SD) – Somaliland police warned the public of sharing reports on predicting insecurity on social media.
In a released statement, the police announced that they would take action against those sharing the false information, adding Somaliland security is good.
“In recent days, there has been a false reporting predicting insecurity in Somaliland on Social Media. In general, the situation in Somaliland is peaceful, thank God and the contribution to the Somali army, and police.” said the police in a statement.
Police added a warning to the individuals it says is spreading the false news about the country’s security.
“We warn against anyone who is on Social Media and exaggerates the news of the enemy. We are telling the people of Somaliland not to listen to the false information” said the police.
The news about the insecurity comes days after Sheikh Aden Sunne, left Somaliland and accused authorities of torturing him.
