Hargeisa (SD) – The senior leadership of the three national parties in Somaliland met with a delegation of Ambassadors and Diplomats from the international community who support Somaliland’s democratization process.

The delegation from Somaliland’s friends includes delegates from nine governments and nine ambassadors along with senior diplomats to monitor the May 31st elections in the Republic of Somaliland.

The International Community delegation indicated that they were in the country to encourage the political parties, stand by Somaliland’s democracy and monitor the progress of preparations for the elections.

The three national parties and the international community briefed each other on the progress of the elections and shared information regarding their brief campaigning period.

Officials from Europe and Africa visit coincides with the country’s Parliamentary and Local elections, slated for the 31st of May.
