Hargeisa (SD) – The President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, today received the World Bank Country Director for Somalia, Kristina Svensson, accompanied by senior World Bank official, Ms. Kaltun Hassan, according to a press release from the Somaliland presidency.
Muse Bihi briefed the delegation on Somaliland’s independence and noted that the country’s progress has been achieved through the cooperation of the government and the people.
The meeting discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations between Somaliland and the World Bank and how to expand and develop the World Bank’s development projects in the Republic of Somaliland.
The delegation pledged to intensify their cooperation and to invest more in the World Bank’s development projects in Somaliland.
The President was accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Isse Kayd Mohamud Raagsaale, Planning and National Development, Hon. Omar Ali Abdillahi Bade, Finance Development, Dr. Sa’ad Ali Shire, Livestock and Fisheries Development, Hon. Said Sulub Mohamed. and the President’s Adviser on Economic Affairs, Dr. Osman Sheikh Ahmed.
