HARGEISA (SD) -The outgoing President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, was warmly welcomed back in Hargeisa today and spoke about the maritime agreement with Ethiopia.

Muse Bihi, addressing the gathered public, stated that Somaliland would not compromise its territories, Bihi, addressing the welcoming crowd, stated that Somaliland will not compromise its territories and that they have not sold any territory, emphasizing that they lack the authority to do so, and those claiming otherwise are the enemies of Somaliland.

“Somaliland territory cannot be sold; we don’t have the authority. Anyone who claims it has been sold is an enemy of Somaliland,” Said Bihi.

However, The Ethiopian government has issued a different statement regarding the agreement, noting that the agreement gives them control of the 20 km coastline for naval use.

Muse Bihi officially signed the agreement with Ethiopia on the 1st of this month, outraged Somalis everywhere including those in Somaliland. The Somali federal government rejected the MoU between Somaliland and Ethiopia.
