HARGEISA (SD) -The Cabinet Ministers of Somaliland held an extraordinary meeting today, supporting the agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia, stating that they will take any necessary measures against any opposition.

The Cabinet, chaired by the Vice President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail Saylici, described the agreement as historic, expressing gratitude to the Ethiopian government for acknowledging Somaliland as an independent state.

The council condemned Somalia’s opposition to the agreement between the two parties and called on the federal government to refrain from criticizing the MoU, saying that this would harm the security of the Horn of Africa region.

Additionally, the Cabinet called on the international community to follow suit and recognize Somaliland, as Ethiopia did, highlighting the positive impact such recognition can have on the stability and development of the region.
