Hargeisa (SD) – The President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi has strongly rebuked to a statement made by the President of Somalia last night during a debate on the 2020/21 elections.

Speaking at the debate, President Farmajo repeated Somalia rhetoric saying that Somaliland can not separate and that the unity of Somalia is sacred.

Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi responded to Farmajo while attending a ceremony for the first batch of graduates from the Somaliland Teachers Training College this morning.

“Somaliland were first on the unification of the five Somalis. But the political minds in Mogadishu and their five regional presidents are not the one that could unite Somalis” said President Bihi in his response today.

President Bihi also underlined that President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed (Farmajo) is the obstacle to a political solution between the two countries.

The exchange of words between the two presidents comes come at a time when there is a lot of discussions surrounding the upcoming elections in Somalia and how it will affect the Somaliland members of Somalia parliament.
