Hargeisa (SD) – The chairman of the Somaliland Journalists Association (Solja) spoke on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of World Radio Day on 13th February.
“Today marks the 110th anniversary of the first radio station broadcast in the world,” he said.
SOLJA Chairman Zakeriye Ahmed Muhumed emphasized the importance of radio to the global community and spoke about the role of radio in global media and how it connects communities.
Speaking on behalf of the journalists, the chairman of the Somaliland Journalists Association praised the country’s radio stations for their commitment to providing the public with various programs and literature related to the national awareness campaign.
He also said that this year’s motto is a new world and a new radio, meaning that the radio is keeping up with the latest technology.
