Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland’s Supreme Court has announced the dismissal of 20 frivolous lawsuits filed by candidates complaining about the preliminary election results.
The candidates, who did not win the House of Representatives election in March 31, 2021, filed a complaint with the court and the high court eventually dropped all of their cases today.
The court upheld the results of the parliamentary elections released by the Somaliland Electoral Commission.
Since the announcement of the preliminary election results, the Supreme Court has been engaged in adjudicating cases filed by candidates dissatisfied with the preliminary results.
Somaliland’s Supreme Court has also said it will announce the official results of the country’s March 31, 2021 Parliamentary and local elections on July 07.
