Mogadishu (SD) – The US Africa Command (AFRCOM) has today donated a variety of military vehicles to the Somali National Army Command.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Armed Forces, General Odowa Yusuf Rage, senior officials of the Armed Forces and AFRICOM Command.

The vehicles handed over to the Somali National Army today are intended to be used by the DANAB Commandos of the Somali National Army as to fight Al-Shabaab militants.

Commander of the Somali National Army General Odowa Yusuf Rage thanked the US command AFRICOM for donating the vehicles, saying that the DANAB forces will utilize the vehicles as intended.

Officials who speak for the US Africa Command (AFRCOM) said AFRICOM will continue to support the Somali National Army in their operations against Al-Shabaab terrorists.
