Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland’s Minister of Planning and National Development Hassan Mohamed Ali (Gafadhi) addressed the House of Representatives on Sunday said the ministry was conducting an official census to determine the total population of Somaliland.

Minister Gafadhi said the ministry’s responsibility is to prepare a general plan and collect national data, and to monitor projects implemented by the government and international agencies in the country.

He also briefed the House of Representatives on the National Five Year Plan, which he described as having various pillars of development, he added that foreign projects should be based on the national development plans but forward by his ministry.

Somaliland’s Minister of Planning and National Development, Hassan Mohamed Ali, said Coronavirus infection had hampered most projects planned for this year and of their efforts went to control the spread of COVID-19.
