Speeches by the Northern Upper House Candidates Postponed

Mogadishu (SD) – The Northern Regions Electoral Implementation Committee has announced that the postponement of tomorrow’s speeches by the Northern Regions Upper House candidates.

“We would like to inform all candidates who have registered for the Upper House elections in Somaliland that there will be a delay in tomorrow’s speeches,” the commission said in a statement.

However, the Northern Electoral Implementation Commission did not say when the speeches would take place or why it had been postponed.

The delay in the speeches came after eight of the 46 delegates from the selection committee were reportedly taken to Villa Somalia last night.

Candidates for the 11 seats in the Upper House of the Federal Parliament from the northern regions of Somalia have registered and received their certificates of candidacy.
