Las Anod (SD) – The SSC Khatumo administration has accused , including the displacement of 50,000 families who fled the renewed conflicts.
A press release issued by SSC Khatumo condemned the actions taken by Somaliland against part of the city’s population, as claimed by SSC Khatumo.
“The SSC Khatumo administration strongly condemns the aggressive actions against the residents of Erigavo and the surrounding areas,” the press release stated. “These actions represent severe human rights violations.”
SSC Khatumo also accused Somaliland of displacing an estimated 50,000 families from the city over the past three weeks and looting various properties left behind by the residents, leading to a worsening humanitarian situation.
“The atrocities included the killing of three children and their mother, and the abduction of two boys aged 16 and 18,” the press release stated.
The press release also mentioned that Somaliland forces were responsible for the clashes that occurred in southern Sanag on December 15 and 17, but SSC Khatumo forces bravely defended themselves against the attack.
Finally, SSC Khatumo called on the Somali government and the international community to address the violations it claimed Somaliland committed against the people living in Erigavo and the surrounding areas.
