SSC-Khatumo says the struggle to reclaim parts of the Sool and Sanag regions continue

Las Anod (SD) – The leader of the SSC-Khatumo administration, Abdikadir Aw Ali Firdhiye, has called for strengthening the struggle to reclaim parts of the Sool and Sanag regions from Somaliland. Firdhiye, speaking to the public in the Bo’ame area, urged the community to support the SSC-Khatumo forces and intensify their efforts. He accused Somaliland of displacing SSC-Khatumo residents.

“The struggle is not over yet. From Xedhadhanka to Erigavo, there is chaos, our people have been displaced, and their homes have been taken. What we are witnessing now is a preparation for what’s to come,” said Firdhiye.

The SSC-Khatumo administration, headquartered in Las Anod and controlling much of the Sool region and parts of Sanag, was established after a year-long conflict resulting in Somaliland’s withdrawal from Las Anod.

Additionally, the administration is focused on reclaiming the city of Erigavo, which is currently under Somaliland’s control. Earlier this year, SSC-Khatumo forces entered the city but were forced to withdraw after a few days.

On the other hand, the Somaliland government is making efforts to stabilize the situation in Erigavo, seeking to mediate reconciliation among the clans residing in the city.
