Mogadishu (SD) – Somali Ministry of Information spokesman Ismail Mukhtar Oronjo confirmed that the blast at the Blue Sky restaurant was carried out by a suicide bomber who targeted the establishment.

The blast has so far killed at least three people and injured seven others, according to the spokesman, but it is feared the toll could rise.

Ismail Oronjo in a statement posted on Twitter said “Three people were killed and seven others were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the Blue Sky restaurant.”

Government forces sealed off the area where the blast took place, and no one has yet claimed responsibility.

This is the sixth time a bomber has targeted the Blue Sky Restaurant, which is near the National Theater and Villa Somalia.
