MOGADISHU (SD) – The interim speaker of Somalia’s 11th Parliament Abdisalam Ahmed Liban has appointed members of the organizing committee for the election of the Speaker and his deputies of the House, following its first meeting today.

Speaker Abdisalam Ahmed appointed a 10-member committee from members of the House of the People, who will work to hold the election of the chairperson in the coming days.

The committee will hold its first meeting in Mogadishu on Sunday to discuss the election of the Speaker and his two deputies.

The members of the parliament held their first meeting in Villa Hargeisa today, and held an swearing in of new members and the appointment of the committee for the election of the speaker.
