Dhusamareb (SD) – Galmudug and Ahlu Sunna forces have clashed in Bohol area, north of Dhusamareb town, according to eyewitnesses.

The fighting reportedly started when the Galmudug forces attacked Bohol village where Ahlu Sunna is based.

Reports say that Ahlu Sunna forces have recaptured Bohol area from government forces this afternoon.

Eyewitnesses say that fighting was intense, killing more than five people and injuring 20 others, including officers and soldiers who were deployed in Dhusamareb and Abudwaq for treatment.

The warring parties have each claimed victory in the fighting, there are no independent source to substantiate their claim.

The situation has been relatively calm since this afternoon although residents say it is possible that the parties could clash again as there are mobilizations underway.
