The National Consultative Council meeting enters its second day today.

MOGADISHU (SD)-The National Consultative Council meeting between the leaders of the Federal Government, the regional governments of the country, and the Banadir regional administration is entering its second day today.

The conference is chaired by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and attended by Prime Minister Hamse, his deputy, the Presidents of the regional governments of Jubbaland, South West, Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and the Mayor of Banadir.

Today’s meeting is said to focus on the overall situation in the country, particularly issues related to elections, security, and politics.

Reliable sources also indicate that the leaders of the National Consultative Council will discuss a specific issue related to the implementation of elections, as some regional leaders have completed their terms, while the opposition is demanding that elections be held.

The President of Puntland, Said Abdullahi Deni, is absent from this meeting due to a dispute he has with the leaders of the Federal Government of Somalia.
