Mogadishu October 25, 2022 (SD) – Somali Government today confirmed an operations carried out in cooperation with NISA and their international partners in the last 48 hours killed senior Al-Shabaab officers and destroyed vehicles carrying military supplies and other materials.
The government added that the operation took place in the area of Masjid Ali-gudud and Bur-olow also known as Doolile in the Middle Shabelle region.
An operation carried out on Saturday 22 October targeted a resident and a storage facility where senior Al Shabaab fighters were meeting.
The Somali government also said that 21 members of Al-Shabaab were killed in the operation, including a member named Abdullahi Ali Araale.
The other operation that launched yesterday afternoon in the area of Masjid Ali-Gadud targeted and killed 11 Al-Shabaab members, according to the Somali government.
Lastly, an operation that was carried out last night targeted Bur-Olow, which is a major Al Shabaab stronghold, the militants in that area was led by Musab Abdulle Saneey.
These attacks come at a time when the government, armed civilians and international friends are cooperating in the fight against Al Shabaab.
